Our Chief Executive Sam Dighton joined the panel at The Australian Competitive Advantage Boardroom Series on 9 May, hosted in partnership with BHP.

Sam was joined on the panel by Louisa Rose from Hill-Smith Family Estates and Sam Crafter, CEO of the Office of Hydrogen Power to discuss a range of ideas and policy settings needed to ensure South Australia remains economically competitive and productive.

The discussion delved into the future workforce and skills required to underpin our existing and emerging industries, local supply-chain opportunities from major infrastructure projects, and the importance of R&D and innovation.  Sam also spoke to the Committee for Adelaide’s 5-Point Plan to Boost Productivity, the opportunity for Adelaide to be a leader in AI and digital technologies, and SA ZERO, Adelaide’s first net zero cluster for public, private and academic collaboration.

The event included a Q&A with the Premier the Hon Peter Malinauskas MP who spoke about South Australia’s renewable energy credentials, our abundant copper and magnetite resources, and the importance of the Norther Water Project in driving long-term economic returns for the state.

It was wonderful to see many of the Committee for Adelaide’s members in the room with a shared commitment to shaping the future of Adelaide, South Australia.
