Welcoming Cancer Council SA as a Non-For-Profit member of the Committee for Adelaide.
As South Australia’s leading cancer charity, working across every aspect of every cancer, Cancer Council SA support families affected by cancer when they need it most, speak out on behalf of the community on cancer issues, empower people to reduce their cancer risk, and find new ways to better detect and treat cancer.
They are committed to helping any South Australian facing a cancer diagnosis, regardless of where they live. They welcome regional guests at their Lodge as a home-away-from-home while they have treatments and cancer related appointments. They offer the most up to date accommodation alongside a range of on-site support services, including Social Workers and Transport to Treatment.
Their 13 11 20 helpline is available for anyone impacted by cancer, where they can talk to an oncology nurse, for any questions they or their family and friends might have about their cancer diagnosis or treatment.
They’re working to reduce the impact of cancer for all South Australians.
“As a vital part of the Adelaide and South Australian community, Cancer Council SA is excited to join the Committee for Adelaide. We look forward to fostering and strengthening relationships with fellow Committee members to achieve innovative and forward-thinking outcomes for our State,” Kerry Rowlands, Chief Executive, Cancer Council SA.
