Our SA ZERO workshop on 20 June 2025 brought together members to explore the financial and strategic levers driving South Australia’s transition to a low carbon economy.
We were pleased to welcome Dr Guy Debelle, Chair of Funds SA and former Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank, who shared insights on the critical role of finance in enabling decarbonisation.
Professor Mark Lawrence from the University of Adelaide then led a discussion on the role of banks in financing the low carbon transition and the decarbonisation of industry. This roundtable allowed members to explore practical opportunities and challenges for investment in a low carbon future.
The session also included a presentation by Cate Mussared, Manager, Circular Economy and Caitlin Smith, Project Officer, Circular Economy Policy at Green Industries SA, on South Australia’s Draft Waste Strategy 2025–2030.
Their insights sparked a valuable discussion on the role SA ZERO could play in supporting the state’s shift toward a more circular economy.
Thank you to all who joined and contributed to the conversation. We look forward to continuing this important work together.
