Welcome to new members Carers SA who, for more than 29 years, has supported and empowered people who provide unpaid care and support to family members and friends who have a disability, mental illness, chronic condition, terminal illness, drug or alcohol issue, or who are frail or aged.
The organisation works to improve the health, wellbeing, resilience and financial security of unpaid family carers and to ensure that caring is a shared responsibility of family, community and the government.
“Carers SA has eight offices across the state and is continually seeking to change the community’s perception of not-for-profits in order to enhance the impact that they have on South Australians. This membership is one way in which the organisation can continue to do this and also continue its transition from a traditional not for profit to one that is driven by purpose and business thinking,” Carers SA CEO David Militz said.
