2026 International Women’s Day Breakfast

This year’s breakfast was a powerful reminder that progress on gender equality is not just a women’s issue. It’s everyone’s responsibility, and men have a critical role to play as allies.

Under the theme “Balance the Scales”, we explored what it means to ensure every woman and girl is safe, heard and free to shape her own life.

Our keynote speaker Tarang Chawla delivered a deeply moving address, sharing his personal story about his sister Niki and challenging us to think harder about the role men play in driving real, systemic change. His message was clear: bystanders, institutions and communities must move beyond neutrality and become active agents of change.

We also heard powerful and varied perspectives from:

Each speaker brought a different personal, professional and cultural lens, reinforcing that while the challenges are complex, there is plenty that every one of us can do to help change the narrative.

A huge thank you to our Major Event Partners Credit Union SA and Aurecon for making the event possible, and to our Charity Partner The Zahra Foundation Australia, who also raised $5,000 on the day through the raffle.
