Members are invited to join the Committee for Adelaide and Flinders University’s Factory of the Future for the final Fearless Insights Roundtable exploring how simulation tools are helping drive smarter, more resilient, and more sustainable outcomes across sectors—from urban planning and infrastructure to manufacturing, supply chains, and beyond.
As the pace of change accelerates, the ability to plan, test, and adapt (without costly real-world trial and error) has never been more valuable. Digital simulation and “digital twin” technologies are quietly revolutionising how organisations and cities make decisions, design systems, and deliver services.
Dr Tim van Erp, Senior Lecturer in Advanced Manufacturing Management, Flinders University will set the scene for this roundtable session.
Dr van Erp is a leading researcher in advanced manufacturing and digital innovation, connecting academia and industry to shape the future of Industry 4.0. His work applies digital twin and simulation technologies to develop sustainable, competitive manufacturing systems. He also leads international collaborations, including a Danish-Australian partnership on green hydrogen value chains.
Dr van Erp will be joined by a delegation of Dutch experts in digital twinning, visiting from Denmark, adding a valuable international perspective to the discussion.
Following Dr van Erp’s presentation, Sam Dighton, CEO of the Committee for Adelaide, will facilitate an engaging roundtable discussion on how digital simulation can transform decision-making and innovation across industries.
The event will conclude with a guided tour of Flinders University’s Factory of the Future, a world-class facility showcasing cutting-edge digital manufacturing capabilities.
