With the State Election fast approaching, we’ve taken a closer look at how the major parties’ commitments stack up against the priorities our members have identified for Adelaide’s future.
The Committee for Adelaide has analysed key policy commitments from both the SA Labor Party and SA Liberal Party to see where they align with our pre-election priorities.
Our election calls focused on five key themes:
- Housing – prioritising urban infill over urban sprawl and doing density well
- Infrastructure – ensuring Adelaide is a well-connected, accessible and vibrant city
- Economy – lifting productivity and innovation to drive sustainable growth
- Climate Change – accelerating action and adaptation on the path to net zero
- Health & Wellbeing – supporting and enhancing community health and wellbeing
We are glad to see several policy commitments that align with these priorities.
However, the analysis also highlights some gaps and we will continue to advocate to all sides of government for greater investment in public and active transport infrastructure, productivity reform, research and development, the arts and climate action.
Regardless of the outcome of this weekend’s State Election, the Committee for Adelaide looks forward to continuing to work with our members, industry partners and all levels and sides of government to shape the future of Adelaide, South Australia for generations to come.
