Cleaner air, lower transport costs and healthier communities were at the centre of our recent SA ZERO Open Forum, Charging Ahead: The Public Health and Productivity Case for Transport Electrification.
Held in partnership with RAA and Adelaide University, as part of Future Energy Week, the event brought together perspectives from energy, public health and logistics to explore the opportunities presented by electrifying South Australia’s passenger and freight fleets.
Dr Alina Dini, Head of Energy & Infrastructure at the Electric Vehicle Council, outlined the opportunities, challenges and policy settings shaping the transition to electric transport, including the role Adelaide and South Australia can play.
Dr Dini was joined by Dr Leonid Turczynowicz from Adelaide University and Ruby Diaz from Linfox Logistics for a panel discussion moderated by Peter Nattrass from RAA. The conversation explored the charging infrastructure, electricity grid investment and collaboration needed to support the transition, alongside the potential benefits of quieter streets, reduced transport emissions and more efficient fleets.
Thank you to our speakers, moderator, partners and everyone who attended for contributing to this important conversation about South Australia’s transport future.
