What will South Australia’s next decade of investment mean for our economy, businesses and communities?
Our annual Treasurer’s Briefing, gave Committee for Adelaide members an exclusive opportunity to explore the state’s economic outlook and hear directly from Treasurer the Hon Tom Koutsantonis MP about the Government’s priorities.
EY Australia Chief Economist Cherelle Murphy, set the scene with an overview of South Australia’s economic performance and the pressures shaping its outlook. Her insights covered inflation, borrowing costs, employment trends and global uncertainty, providing valuable context for the discussion.
The Treasurer then outlined the Government’s work to support growth and deliver the infrastructure South Australia needs. The discussion spanned T2D, Northern Water, resources investment, Whyalla, AUKUS and housing, including the infrastructure and workforce required to turn these opportunities into lasting benefits for the state.
Chief Executive Sam Dighton joined both speakers for a fireside conversation, exploring these issues in greater depth and inviting members to put their questions directly to the Treasurer and Cherelle.
The briefing offered members an opportunity to consider how the investment ahead could shape South Australia’s future, while acknowledging the immediate pressures facing businesses and communities.
Thank you to the Treasurer and Cherelle for sharing their insights and engaging openly with our members, and to EY for its ongoing partnership in delivering this important annual briefing.
