Ministerial Fireside Series – Hon Emily Bourke MLC

Behind every minister is a personal story, and hearing that story adds a valuable dimension to conversations about our state’s future.

On 20 October 2026, we welcomed the Hon. Emily Bourke MLC to our Ministerial Fireside Series, giving Committee for Adelaide members the opportunity for an intimate discussion about her journey into politics and the priorities across her portfolios.

From working on her family’s farm to entering political life, the Minister shared reflections on the experiences that shaped her. It was a welcome opportunity to hear the human side of public service and get to know the person behind the portfolios.

As Minister for Climate, Environment and Water and Minister for Tourism, she also explored the close connections between these responsibilities, highlighting how much our visitor economy depends on a healthy environment and the natural assets that make South Australia special.

Thank you, Minister Bourke, for your time, openness and willingness to engage with our members.

Thank you also to Jeremy Hill for his opening remarks and setting the scene for the conversation, and to MinterEllison for your ongoing partnership in delivering this series.
