Welcoming Adelaide Fringe as an Associate member of the Committee for Adelaide, nominated by Platinum member Maras Group.
Adelaide Fringe is Australia’s biggest arts festival.
For 31 magical summer days and nights, the Adelaide CBD comes alive, hosting some of the most popular venues, shows and events the festival has to offer.
The economic and cultural impact of Fringe is huge across the state and around half of the impact is right in the CBD. In 2022, the Fringe generated $41.7 million total expenditure in the City of Adelaide area alone, and created 55,874 interstate and overseas tourist nights in the CBD. (See the Impact Report for full figures).
As a not-for-profit, open access festival, the Fringe believes in supporting artists to develop and present new works, by providing assistance and small grants to artists and producers, funding First Nations artists and delivering accessibility initiatives so that everyone can experience the magic of Fringe.
“Adelaide Fringe is a festival that is truly designed to support the arts and artists, which is such an important industry in our State. The ripple effect of the Fringe reaches thousands of local businesses, generating more than 6,000 jobs and providing an ROI of 30:1 on the funding we receive from the State Government and an ROI of 130:1 on the funds we receive from the City of Adelaide. As the biggest arts festival in Australia, we’re heavily invested in the social, cultural and economic future of our State and look forward to collaborating with the Committee for Adelaide and its members to stamp Adelaide on the map as one of the most vibrant, big-thinking cities in the world,” Heather Croall, CEO, Adelaide Fringe.
