The Committee for Adelaide, with support from Green Industries South Australia (GISA) are leading SA ZERO, Adelaide’s first net zero cluster for public-private-academia collaboration.

Our mission is to accelerate South Australia’s zero carbon and zero waste pathways.

Our objectives are to:

  • Assist our members in aligning their emissions & waste reduction aims and actions with state, federal and global targets.
  • Increase the pace and scale of decarbonisation and circularity in South Australia
  • Identify and act on opportunities for South Australia’s people, nature and economy to benefit from the transition to zero carbon, zero waste.

SA ZERO is a member-based cluster, which pursues our objectives in various ways, including:

  • Regular cluster-member-only workshops with expert guests for peer-to-peer sustainability knowledge sharing
  • Regular public forums showcasing the thought leadership of our members to build sustainability capacity with the local innovation, government, academic and small business community
  • Undertaking cluster activities and actions to accelerate zero carbon, zero waste in South Australia.

Climate change is a substantial risk to the South Australian economy and our people, but it is also an opportunity. Our participation in the global decarbonisation economy is vital for innovation, global market access, job creation, investment attraction, wealth creation, and restoration of the natural environment. The legislating of Australia’s emissions reduction targets, South Australia’s declaration of a climate emergency and the state’s leadership in the circular economy will drive our collective response, but it will come down to individual businesses and consumers to deliver the outcomes needed. Industry, supported by well-designed government policy, underpins our transition to a net zero, circular and nature positive economy.
