A message from our CEO Bruce Djite

It’s almost been a month since I took the role as CEO of the Committee for Adelaide. Thank you to our Chairman, Professor David Lloyd and the Board for having the faith and confidence in me to lead the next exciting chapter of this organisation.

I’d like to pay tribute and thank Jodie van Deventer for the incredible job she has done as CEO over the last several years. She has guided this organisation and has built it up to a level of sustainability. The mark of any good leader is to leave the organisation better than when you started, and Jodie has absolutely done that.

I have been overwhelmed by the messages of support and well wishes from so many people since my appointment and I am very grateful for all the support.

The reason I am so excited to be appointed the CEO of the Committee for Adelaide boils down to my passion and love for South Australia and the opportunity to work with our members and various key stakeholders to help shape the future of our state, especially as we emerge from COVID. South Australia is a state with tremendous untapped potential and opportunities and the team and I will help drive the creation of policies that further enhance South Australia’s standing locally, nationally and globally.

Our state has the ability and capacity for increased growth and we must ensure that it is best placed to capitalise on multiple future growth opportunities.

The Committee for Adelaide will continue to grow and I look forward to announcing new members in the coming months and welcoming them to the Committee for Adelaide family. Only by collaborating and working as a collective will we successfully shape the future of South Australia.

I am so grateful to be chief executive of this wonderful organisation and I look forward to meeting all our members and sharing this journey with you all.

Cheers,
Bruce
