Media Release: Business leaders join high-powered Adelaide board

Four of the State’s most respected business leaders have joined the Committee for Adelaide Board, Chaired by University of South Australia Vice Chancellor, Professor David Lloyd.

Professor Lloyd said it was testament to the Committee’s reputation, reach and influence that it continued to attract such high calibre candidates.

Alicia Genet, Head of Public Affairs and Sustainability at Santos, will be joined by Caillin Howard, Managing Director at Hames Sharley, and senior leaders at two of the State’s largest privately owned companies, Trevor Cooke, CEO at Commercial & General and Morna Young, General Manager People and Culture at Thomas Foods.

“Our Board includes a remarkable mix of talent, experience and diversity both in terms of businesses and community organisations represented and gender,” Professor Lloyd said.

“With a focus on skilling and attracting business, investment and talent, helping Adelaide to become the world’s first well city and initiatives such as Adelaide Abroad and our work on the CBD Policy Recovery Committee, we’re playing a major role as we begin to rebuild and reimagine our city post Covid-19,” he said.

Professor Lloyd thanked retiring Board members for their contributions including Andrew Culley, Managing Partner of Deloitte Private, Katrina Quinn General Manager from UniSA Business School and Matthew Sherwell, Manager Policy & Regulatory Affairs of Santos. Both Mr Culley and Ms Quinn will continue to work closely with the Board chairing two of its Committees.

The new board members were elected at the Committee for Adelaide’s recent AGM.
