Have your say on reducing red tape in South Australia

The Committee for Adelaide welcomes the South Australian Productivity Commission’s Review of Red Tape, commissioned by the Premier to identify practical ways to reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens on South Australian businesses.

The Commission has released an issues paper and is seeking feedback on the regulations, processes and interactions businesses face, including licensing, approvals, compliance requirements and dealings with state and local government agencies.

Improving productivity has been a consistent focus of the Committee’s advocacy, including through our Five Point Plan to Boost Productivity and our 2026 State Election Priorities. Addressing unnecessary complexity and delays can help businesses spend more time investing, innovating and growing.

We recently invited members to share the productivity challenges affecting their businesses and the changes they believe would make a difference. We will provide this feedback to the Commission on behalf of our members, ensuring their experiences and ideas inform the review.

Share your experience

We encourage all members to complete the Commission’s online survey and contribute directly to this important work. The consultation is also open to businesses, industry groups, community members and other stakeholders.

Consider the processes that create unnecessary delays, duplicate requirements or add avoidable costs to your organisation. Sharing specific examples, their impact and practical suggestions for improvement will help make the case for reform.

This is an opportunity to help shape changes that support a more productive and competitive Adelaide and South Australia.
