Business pays 75% of City Council rates. Make your vote count.
The upcoming City of Adelaide election is a critical opportunity for businesses to shape the future of our city. Businesses contribute over 75% of Council rate revenue, funding the services, infrastructure and investment that keeps Adelaide operating and growing.
Yet over the past four years, total rates revenue has increased by 34.6% an additional $43.5 million annually placing growing pressure on business. Of this, Council only allocates 6.5% of rates revenue to the Adelaide Economic Development Agency.
Despite this, many eligible businesses do not participate in Council elections.
