Welcoming Adelaide City of Music Ltd as an Associate member of the Committee for Adelaide, nominated by Deloitte as part of their Platinum membership.
Adelaide City of Music Ltd is Adelaide’s recognised UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network representative organisation or Focal Point.
The UCCN was created in 2004 to promote cooperation with and among cities that have identified creativity as a strategic factor for sustainable urban development. Almost 300 cities around the world which currently make up this network work together towards a common objective: placing creativity and cultural industries at the heart of their development plans at the local level and cooperating actively at the international level.
In 2015, Adelaide was proudly designated a UNESCO City of Music. This acknowledgment underscores our commitment to music, diverse musical heritage, and the promotion of music education, creativity, and cultural expression.
This designation highlights our efforts to support music-related activities, local musicians, and global music connections. Like fellow UNESCO Creative Cities, Adelaide City of Music believe in the transformative potential of music and work to enhance our cultural scene and expand our international presence.
“Adelaide City of Music has vested interest in fostering and developing Adelaide’s cultural landscape, in particular music and promoting this globally. ACOM is looking forward to engaging with other organisation leaders and taking part in conversations that promote Adelaide a true global city of culture, Joe Hay, General Manager, Adelaide City of Music.
