The Committee for Adelaide, was pleased to host the first event in our new Democracy Series in partnership with Flinders University, the Jeff Bleich Centre for Democracy and Disruptive Technologies, and major series partner Hays.
A thought-leadership program for members exploring how democracies can thrive in a rapidly changing world shaped by technological, social, and geopolitical disruption.
Dr Rodrigo Praino, Professor of Politics and Public Policy and Director of the Jeff Bleich Centre, provided a fascinating overview of the current geopolitical landscape and the state of democracy globally. The discussion spanned great power politics, the evolving global order, and the growing influence of technology, social media, and AI on democratic values and institutions.
Importantly, we also explored what these global shifts mean for South Australian businesses, including how understanding the international environment can help organisations plan ahead, manage risk, and respond to emerging trade and investment opportunities.
Thank you to the team at the Jeff Bleich Centre, Hays team for helping bring this important series to our members and for their continued support.
We’re looking forward to hosting more of these conversations throughout the year.
