Creating Adelaide University: The Opportunity for SA

On 31 July the Committee for Adelaide will be hosting an exclusive discussion on the creation of Adelaide University – representing the nation’s largest change to higher education in more than three decades.

On commencement, Adelaide University will combine the strengths of the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia to unlock benefits far beyond collaboration and scale. It presents a unique opportunity to transform the higher education landscape in South Australia and have a positive impact that will transcend borders around the world.

Adelaide University will deliver Australia’s most contemporary, industry-informed curriculum, leading to jobs in areas of future demand and partnering with employers and end-users to produce outstanding graduates. It is a once in a generation opportunity to re-imagine and co-create a combined university which can be a true leader in Australia and admired globally for its outstanding impact.

Join us on 31 July to learn about the cultural and economic opportunities Adelaide University presents and how the new university will engage and collaborate with industry, government and the community. You will also be among the first to hear from the University’s leaders about the global positioning and branding of the new Adelaide University.

This important conversation closely aligns with the Committee for Adelaide’s goal to build a ‘Thriving Community’, which focuses on attracting and retaining the talent and skills required for current and future workforce needs.

The event will feature an opening panel conversation moderated by Sandy Verschoor, Former Lord Mayor for Adelaide, joined by:

This will be followed by a presentation on the new Adelaide University brand by Will Fuller, Managing Director, Fuller Brand Communication. Joining the discussion, will be Dr Benjamin Grindlay, Chief Marketing Officer, The University of Adelaide and Sarah Cutbush, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer of the University of South Australia.

We would like to thank the new Adelaide University for sponsoring the event.
